About Rose, James, Our Life & More
I’m not one who usually generalizes but it does seem the news media picks and choice what information is worthy and what news just barely gets covered. I’m a TV watcher by trade. I watch the news every morning and when I learned of the earthquake off the coast of Indonesia last week I wondered why it was only a one time news story. First there is an undersea earthquake which causes and tsunami and then less than a day later, the volcano, Mount Merapi erupts.
The death toll from both disasters totals 400 dead or injured, and thousands are homeless. There are still hundreds missing and they are feared to have been washed out to sea. This is the worst natural disaster after the Haiti and Chile earthquakes put the coverage was not as evident. Some good news to come out of this disaster is a 10-year-old child discovered a baby alive in a group of trees on Wednesday. Unfortunately the 10 year boy’s parents are both dead.
Can you imagine if everyone had the love for their fellow man like the Tuohy family. Imagine if only half of everyone had the love for their fellow man like the Tuohy’s. I’m not suggesting in today’s climate that you would invite a stranger into your home like she did, but isn’t there something we can do for one another even strangers on a daily, weekly or monthly basis?
I think there is.
